Colorado State Universitys Institute for Livestock and the Environment announces its Second Annual Stakeholder Summit on November 19, 2009 in Fort Collins, CO.
The theme for the Summit is Working Together to Solve Environmental Problems, and the purpose of the Stakeholder Summit is to improve our ability to work together as academics, livestock producers, environmental groups, and others to solve the real-world environmental challenges facing livestock producers in the Great Plains and Inter-Mountain West.
Lester Brown will be the keynote speaker at tLester Brown Photohe Institute for Livestock and Environments Stakeholder Summit this year! Mr. Brown is president of Earth Policy Institute in Washington, DC; an organization dedicated to building a sustainable future. He has authored over 50 books, the most recent of which is Plan B 4.0: Mobilizing to Save Civilization.
Abstracts are invited for poster presentations. Abstracts should define a problem prior to describing the approach to address it and finally describe the next steps towards finding a practical, science-based solution. Posters will be grouped by Focus Area to facilitate mingling among poster presenters with similar interests.
Stakeholders, graduate students, and faculty are encouraged to submit abstracts. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best graduate student posters.
The abstract submission deadline is September 30, 2009 at 5:00 pm Mountain Time. Abstracts will undergo review by the program committee, and authors will be notified of their abstracts status by October 15, 2009. You will receive an email acknowledgement of each abstract submission. If you do not receive an email acknowledging submission or if you have any questions about the Stakeholder Summit, contact ILE at jessica.davis@colostate.edu.
