Utility Database - EnergyCAP
Staff at Facilities Management know the first step towards energy efficiency is maintaining a utility database. EnergyCAP is a software program designed for many things, such as energy information tracking, assessing the impacts of weather and rate changes, and calculating the cost avoidance attributable to energy management projects.
How to use EnergyCAP
Refer to the following instructions for accessing our EnergyCAP online system:
Logging In
- Go to the EnergyCAP login screen.
- Enter the following login information:
- Username: student
- Password: access
- Datasource: ece_csu
- Click the Login button.
Viewing Reports
- If any reports have been specified for quick reporting, they can be accessed directly on the homepage after being logged in, by choosing the report of interest from the Quick Reports section.
- To browse all available reports, click Reporting in the left pane.
- From the directory listing, choose the folder that corresponds to the report you would like to view, such as Analysis Reports.
- Click the Code link of the report you would like to view, such as AN04, and click Preview from the resulting drop-down menu.
- A new window will open with available parameters to filter the report. To accept the defaults, leave these as is.
- Click the Preview button.
- A new window will open with the results of the report. Depending on the specifics of the report, it may take a few moments to load. Please be patient and allow the report to fully load before interacting with it.
- Important note - in order for the reports to display correctly, Java must be installed on your computer.
Displaying Weather Data
- Click Weather Data in the left pane.
- Select a graphical chart of interest.
- Select the region of interest using the highlighted sections on the map and the Station drop-down menu.
- Follow any additional on-screen instructions.
Logging Out
- When finished using the EnergyCAP online application, click Sign Out in the left pane.
Data Disclaimer
As the EnergyCAP database was recently converted from a legacy system, some data may still be in the process of being updated for the new system. If you notice any specific data discrepancies, please contact Heidi Mechtenberg.
