The Facilities Management Department is committed to quality competitive service. Our mission is to anticipate and provide the physical environment, which enables Colorado State University to achieve its objectives in instruction, research, and public service.

Facilities Management and Sustainability

Facilities Management is the department charged with managing the physical aspects and daily operations of a larger system known as Colorado State University, in order to reach its overarching mission: to set the standard for public research universities in teaching, research, service and extension for the benefit of the citizens of Colorado, the United States, and the world. Due to the key role in upholding that mission, the department is committed to projects that conserve resources in order to create a more sustainable campus and community.

RecycleMania 2008 Results

Colorado State Finishes 2nd in RecycleMania 2008

Colorado State University finished in second place in the Grand Champion category, whole campus division, and was the largest school in the top-five. The University had a cumulative recycling rate of 51.35% of the total wastestream during the ten weeks of competition and was ranked fifth in the Waste Minimization category.

This was the Colorado State's fourth year in the competition, resulting in the University's best finish and a near 10% recycling rate increase from 2007. Go Rams!

In the Housing competition, Durward/Westfall/Durrell finished first among the residence halls, with 32.77 lbs. of recycled materials per resident. University Village 1500/City Park & Plum topped the apartment competition with an impressive 55.44 lbs. of recycled materials per resident. Overall, all residents recycled more in this year's competition.
