Historic Buildings

CSU has 13 historical buildings on the State or National Historic Register. Located around and adjacent to The Oval, on Main Campus, the historic buildings completed construction between the years of 1881 and 1940. Some of the buildings include the first co-ed dormitory, the women’s athletic club, and first bath house. Also, the beginnings of some of CSU’s most iconic programs, such as Forestry and Veterinary Medicine started in these buildings. Two additional properties are on the register, the Aggie “A” located on the foothills west of campus and the Ramsey Koening Ranch at the Mountain Campus. CSU’s Historic Building Review Board (HBRB) oversees the longevity and historic nature of these building. Design decisions for all exterior work and historic interior modifications are approved through the board.
