Utility Services provides a broad range of services to all University campuses. Questions regarding operations or management of any utility system may be directed to Utilities Services.

Utility Procurement, Production, Billing and Management

Procurement and contract management responsibility is provided for all utilities, including electric, natural gas, water and sewer. Telecommunications is not included and information about them is available on the Telecommunications homepage. Utility production includes steam, compressed air and chilled water from the central District Heating Plant and District Cooling Plant. Departmental requests or questions about outages should be directed to Facilities Customer Service Center.

Utility Emergency Response, Maintenance, Repair & Planning

Utility Services and Facilities Management Trade Shops are responsible for these services. To report an emergency, call 911. To report any other problems with any utility, contact Dispatch at 970-491-0077.

Energy and Water Conservation

Utility Services monitors energy and water consumption and costs and promotes energy and water conservation. Contact Stacey Baumgarn, Campus Energy Coordinator to learn about the ways you can save energy, water, and resources at work and in your building. Stacey Baumgarn (970-491-0328).

Utility Locates

Utility Services will provide locates of most underground utilities on an as-requested basis to coordinate any excavation, installation of signs, stakes, and tents, and other work that requires the surface of the ground to be disturbed. Requests for locates should be directed to the Utility Notification Center of Colorado at 1-800-922-1987, advanced notice of at least three business days is required before excavation may begin. Utility As-Built Documentation

Utility Services documents exposed utility systems to update the university’s GIS maps. Requests for campus utility or other maps should be directed to 970-566-1791.
