Six days per year, CSU hosts a home football game in the on-campus stadium. On these weekends, special restrictions are in place that impact a variety of aspects across campus, including:

  • Parking
  • Traffic flow
  • Pedestrian, bike, ADA and vehicle access
  • The availability of certain services, including custodial and campus police services.

The university has implemented a campus-wide review process for events and activities taking place on home game weekends. Events and activities are broadly defined. This website applies to alumni or college gatherings in conjunction with the game, as well as situations not affiliated with the game, such as community classes or formal study group or student organization meetings. The timeframe of a game weekend is considered to be from 4 p.m. on the day before the game, through the end of the day that follows game day. The review process helps to ensure that event or activity organizers have the support and information needed. It also helps make sure the university entities that support operations across campus have the information they need to provide a safe and hospitable experience for all guests. You can find the 2019 football schedule here. Examples of events or activities that would need to go through this process include:

  • Events hosted in conjunction with a game weekend, including college, unit, group or club tailgates, socials, mixers, etc.
  • Special events or activities not related to a game, but that fall within the specified time frame, such as celebrations, dinners, speakers, mixers, etc.
  • Student or employee meetings, conferences, seminars, community outreach activities, or activities that are not related to a game, but fall on a game-day weekend and require attendees to drive to and park on campus or access university classrooms, event spaces or outdoor facilities.
  • Events or activities hosted by a group outside of CSU, such as ACT testing, that require attendees to be on campus during a game day.

The following documents explain the special guidelines that are in place for events taking place on game weekends.
