Custodial Services supports campus facilities through routine cleaning, snow removal support near building entrances, fee-for-service specialty cleaning, building lock and unlock coordination, and indoor pest control assistance.

Available Services

Snow Removal
Snow removal is a high priority within custodial operations. Custodial teams clear snow and apply ice melt up to 20 feet from building entrances and in ADA-accessible areas to help ensure safe and accessible pathways.

Routine Cleaning
Buildings are cleaned using a priority-based approach that includes restrooms, classrooms, entranceways, hallways, laboratories, offices, locker/changing rooms, and swimming pools.

Carpet Cleaning
A non-routine, fee-for-service task coordinated by Building Services. Start a quote request in RamWorks, then accept the quote before scheduling.

Window Cleaning
A non-routine, fee-for-service task. Vendors may take three to four weeks to provide a quote. Scheduling depends on weather and funding approval.

Window Blind Cleaning
Request a quote in RamWorks. After the quote is accepted and funding is approved, service will be scheduled as available.

Locking & Unlocking Doors
Custodians unlock and lock main campus building entries and select classrooms. Buildings are typically unlocked by 7:00 a.m. and locked by 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Pest Control – Indoors
Indoor pest control is provided through a private contractor at no cost to building occupants. Special services in labs or critical areas may be fee-for-service.

 

Cleaning Priorities

Custodial work is prioritized in the following general order: snow removal when needed, restrooms, locker/changing rooms, swimming pools, classrooms, entranceways, hallways, laboratories, and offices.

Are custodial services available on weekends?

Not by default. Weekend services require prior arrangements, and services are not provided on official campus holidays.

How do I request carpet, window, or blind cleaning?

Submit a request for a quote through RamWorks. After Building Services provides the quote, the requesting department must accept it before the work can be scheduled.

Can custodial staff unlock buildings or offices after hours?

No. After-hours access is not provided by custodial staff. Individuals must have pre-approved key or card access, or work through their building proctor or department head.

Who do I call for indoor pest control?
