  • AiM:  stands for Intelligence within Asset Management, it is also the “internal” product.  It is also the name of FM’s new Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) software package. AiM is the main software module.  Other parts of this software package are called ReADY and Go.
  • AssetWorks: vendor for the ReADY, AiM and Go products and services.
  • Assets: any physical item or system of value to FM.  Items include equipment such as generators, but can also be a building, or a multi-piece “system” within a building such HVAC.
  • FEA: acronym for a service provider called Facilities Engineering Associates. FEA is our consultant to help implement AiM.
  • FM Partners: other groups at CSU that will join in the use, implementation, support and costs of AiM.  So far our partners are:
    • Housing & Dining Facilities Operations
    • Student Recreation Center
    • Student Center
    • ACNS/Telecom
  • Go: name of AiM’s mobile app that many of us will use. It will work on iOS cell phones or tablet style devices that you carry with you as you do your work. Additional work on cell phone connectivity/WiFi is planned to boost coverage on campus and building basement areas.
  • IWMS: acronym for Integrated Workplace Management System. This is a general term used to describe a combination of software, data and services.  An IWMS is a tool we purchased to help manage the daily work we do here at Facilities Management. This daily work includes:
    • Operations & Maintenance
    • Warehousing & Inventory
    • Space Management
    • Assets Management
    • Capital Planning & Project Management
  • ReADY: name of AiM’s outward-facing software (or the “external” product) that allows people to access specific information.  As with AiM, ReADY has several modules including “Request” which allows people to enter requests for services or to report issues, “Space” which will be the external interface for customers to use to interact with the space information in AiM and “Vendor” which AssetWorks is just now developing.  For example, ReADY provides online self-service to submit work requests and monitor the status of a work order.
